We hope that you haven't been too badly affected by all the bad weather recently and have kept tucked up nice and warm at night. Midas goes public! New open courses announced

Applauding people

We are pleased to announce the first of a series of open courses scheduled to run in 2009. We know from our clients that the need for training can crop up at any time of the year. So having the option of offering training for individuals or small groups of people in a public programme can be very helpful.

Based on our already successful in-house events, this initial series includes one of our most frequently requested courses, Confident Presentation Skills. We also offer Dynamic and Motivational Leadership, which is particularly useful for those managing teams who would like to take a fresh look at their leadership skills.

These courses will be running in April and June at venues in Buckinghamshire and Wiltshire. To book your place or for more information contact us at enquiries@midas-training.co.uk or go to the Open Courses section of our website.

In-house courses - new courses just released

Woman with PC

We are always developing our portfolio of training courses, and some brand new workshops are now available for you to book for your organisation.

Amongst our new titles are An Introduction to Strategic Thinking which explores both the nature and impact of the strategic approaches to decision making in an organisation. It offers both the theoretical background and the practical reality of how these techniques can be used by both new and experienced managers.

Effective Written Communication explores the approach we take to the letters, reports, emails and other ways we communicate in writing. The course encourages participants to reflect on what messages they are really sending. We help them make their written communications clearer and more effective.

Putting YOU first

At Midas, we understand that every organisation is different. We know that to do a good job for you we need to listen first to what you need.

When you book a Midas workshop, we will ask you what you are hoping to achieve from the day. We will then adapt our materials to meet your needs, and our skilled trainers will work on the day to meet the needs of the participants.

This bespoke approach also means that if you don't see a course on our website that is exactly what you are looking for, then we can still help! Simply get in touch with us and we can design a course especially for you.

2009 Sneak Peek - Courses in development

Group shaking hands

At Midas, we write all our own material - we never buy generic material as some companies do.

This means that we can develop new courses on request. In recent months, we have had a great deal of interest in training in two particular areas. One of these is Successful Networking Skills. This course is now under development and will look at how to create and maintain a network of contacts to help the participants achieve their career goals.

The second area is a fascinating aspect of communication. Positive Verbal Skills will be a course that examines the difference that changing the language we use has on the way we get on with other people.

We will feature more about these courses in future newsletters, but if you think you would like to be one of the first to benefit from either of these new courses, do contact us today.

Mineral makeup is very fashionable right now.

For some people it is much more than that. For people with very sensitive skins it is often the only kind of makeup they can wear.

Midas Director Candy Piercy says "I love the Lily Lolo brand of natural mineral make up - so goodbye to allergy problems and hello to lovely colours and textures for a really professional look. It's great being able to buy little sample pots of their products - this makes internet shopping for makeup really work for me. It makes it so easy to get exactly the right colour for my skin tone. They also have some gorgeous eye shadows in an amazing range of colours.

"I am also recommending this makeup to men that I coach for media skills. The Lily Lolo matte foundations and colour correction powders are just the thing for them to use before going on TV. It can disguise bags under the eyes or a pink nose resulting from a cold or hayfever.

"So for pleasure or for business, this is a website to remember."

"In my experience - this is one of the most reliable travel advice sites on the web" says Midas trainer Jenny Shorten.

"What I like about it is the massive scope of the entries. I find it works for both business and leisure travel. You can get a review on everything from the most famous hotel in a city to a small B & B in a remote corner of New Zealand. I know - because I've used it for both!"
